While ringing in 2012, Kathy Griffin stripped down and modeled her underwear on CNN in front of a somewhat sputtering Anderson Cooper. Fortunately, she also showed the world bras that fit. On TheCelebrityCafe.com, you can see a video of the moment, complete with her dancing in a circle to show the entire 360 view of her bra. Here at Fab Foundations, we appreciate the effort to educate women about bras that fit (that was her intent, we’re sure). Here’s why Kathy Griffin’s is a fine example:
1) The Band: Kathy’s bra band makes a horizontal line across her back. That’s what you want. A band that’s firm, anchored and horizontal is the sign of proper fit.
2) The Bridge: On a bra, the bridge refers to the piece between the breasts, connecting the cups. You want your bridge to sit flush against your body, with no gaps.
3) The Cups: Kathy is wearing a plunge bra, meaning that it’s suitable for wearing under a deep v-neckline. While some of her breast is exposed, the cups don’t dig in — they create a single smooth line under her clothes.
You can find more details about how the band, bridge and cups should fit in my book, Busted!
Cheers to you, Kathy Griffin!
